Our backyard

We are outdoorsmen first. We love the woods right out our back door, on the Uncompahgre Plateau and the Grand Mesa, and the sunsets from up on the Black Canyon are hard to beat. We care about wild things and wild places, and a sawmill that puts beetle-killed pine and storm-downed trees to good use is one way we look after them.

For the valley that also means convenience. Slabs, surplus and firewood we have in stock can go home the same day, and ours is the only kiln in Montrose County running 100% local wood.

Wild things and wild places

Why we do this.

We spend our days off in the woods, chasing elk and sheds and sunsets. The same country that grows the trees we mill is the country we want to keep wild, so we put beetle-killed and storm-downed timber to work instead of letting it go to waste.
