Policies

Log condition

Logs full of mud, dirt, rocks or debris will not be milled. They get assessed and may be refused or charged a cleaning fee before milling.

Equipment protection

We reserve the right to not mill any log we feel could damage our equipment.

Natural material

Wood is a natural product. Yield, appearance and movement cannot be guaranteed. We do our best to maximize usable material.

Storage

Finished material must be picked up within 14 days (green) or 7 days (kiln dried). Storage fees apply after that.

At drop-off

How drop-off works.

1

Book a time

Pick a drop-off time so the crew is ready to unload, or call or text 970-440-1491. Logs need to be at least 8 ft long to clamp on the mill.

2

We tag every log

Each log end gets painted with your initials and a number, like MA-1 MA-2. That code follows your wood through the mill.

3

Photos and measurements

We photograph each tagged log and record species, diameter and length. Board footage is figured on the International 1/4" scale.

4

Walk through your cut list

We go over what you want from each log, then you sign the intake form.

Your cut list

Fill this in before you come.

Fill in one box per log. Send it and we'll have it in front of us when you pull in. You can also copy it and text it to 970-440-1491.

See it the way we'll get it

Milling is part nature, part science, and part blind luck with a chainsaw.

Rather talk it through?

Grab 15 minutes on the phone, or come walk the yard and see the wood in person.
